I'm Jayshankar & I make films.

Based out of Pune; I'm an independent filmmaker- working as a writer, director and editor with a flair for crafting captivating visual stories. With a robust track record of producing award-winning short films and high-impact commercial videos, I bring a unique blend of creativity and technical expertise to every project.
My journey began with a self-funded YouTube channel in 2014, where I wrote, directed, shot, and edited short films that garnered accolades at international film festivals.

I hold double Master’s degrees in Filmmaking and Journalism, blending my expertise in visual language, literature, and the arts into the audio-visual medium. My professional experience spans end-to-end production management, from conceptualization to final delivery, ensuring top-quality outcomes that meet client objectives. Fluent in English, Tamil, Hindi, Marathi and Sanskrit, I am passionate about making films across different languages and genres.

Over the years, I have collaborated with a diverse network of industry professionals, creating impactful stories and supporting others in shaping their narratives. My notable projects include directing and editing documentaries, student films, and commercial videos for corporate clients, enhancing their brand presence and engagement.

Directed & Edited a corporate documentary for Genwise- a corporate specializing in the children’s education sector. Completed an extensive 15-day shoot in Manipal followed by a swift completion of Post-Production
